DeepSeek plans to release its V4 large language model this week, marking its first major launch since January 2025, according to people familiar with the matter. The Hangzhou-based lab is expected to unveil V4 as a multimodal model capable of generating text, images, and video.
Sources said DeepSeek worked with Chinese AI chipmakers Huawei and Cambricon to optimize V4 for their latest hardware. DeepSeek, Huawei, and Cambricon did not immediately respond to requests for comment. [Financial Times]
