It’s set to be one of the biggest weeks for new Netflix movies and TV shows of 2026 so far. Subscribers have plenty of flagship originals to look forward to, and all this new content can only be enjoyed on the big red streaming service.
For starters, there’s a new comedy-drama show starring Rachel Weisz as a professor who engages in an ill-advised relationship with a younger colleague. If that doesn’t float your boat, how about Netflix’s new blockbuster sci-fi action movie, “War Machine.” And of course, “One Piece” fans are abuzz ahead of the release of the second season of the live-action anime adaptation.
Your watchlist is about to get a whole lot bigger, so here are all the biggest Netflix exclusive shows and movies you’ll want to start streaming this week.
‘Vladimir’
Watch On
Pitched by Netflix as an “irresistible exploration of obsession,” this new eight-episode series looks like prime binge-watching material. Starring Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall, it’s based on the 2022 novel by Julia May Jonas, and readers don’t need to worry about an unfaithful adaptation as May Jonas is on board as showrunner. Questions remain regarding its overall quality, but based on the premise and talent involved, this show looks primed to be buzzy.
Weisz plays an unnamed protagonist who is working as an English professor and just generally stuck in a rut. Her once promising writing has stalled, and even her daughter, Sid (Ellen Robertson), shows her disinterest. But when a handsome, and much younger, colleague (Woodall) arrives on the scene, her life is thrown into chaos as she develops a dangerous obsession.

‘War Machine’
Watch On
One of Netflix’s big tentpole original movies for March drops this week in the form of “War Machine.” A high-concept sci-fi action flick that aims to bring some blockbuster thrills to the small screen. Perhaps my biggest pre-release disappointment is the singular machine here; why not go full “Transformers” and have loads of mechanized monstrosities squaring off against each other? I’m a simple man. I like to see oversized robots punch each other in the face.
Directed by Patrick Hughes, and starring Alan Ritchson, Dennis Quaid, Stephen James and Jai Courtney, “War Machine” centers on a group of Army Ranger recruits coming to the end of a grueling selection process. But when they encounter a lethal force from another world, they must band together and use all their elite training to survive against an unstoppable enemy.

‘One Piece’ season 2
Watch On
I won’t pretend to be an expert here. I’ve never watched an episode of the “One Piece” anime or this live-action Netflix adaptation. But what I do know is that this franchise’s fans are super passionate, and there’s no doubt they’ll flock to the second season of Netflix’s spin on the series in great numbers when it arrives on Tuesday, March 10. It’ll be another eight-episode drop and will continue the adventures of hero Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy).
Still in search of the eponymous McGuffin, “One Piece” season 2 will see Luffy and his crew, including Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar), traveling to new lands and encountering new friends and foes. Among the new additions to the cast is Tony Tony Chopper (voiced by Mikaela Hoover), a walking and talking reindeer who works as a medic, apparently. It sounds truly bonkers. Maybe I need to catch up quickly.
