Nothing has officially unveiled the Phone (4a) series, and the standout model is the Phone (4a) Pro. It now holds the title of the slimmest smartphone the company has ever made.
At just 7.95mm thick, the new device pairs Nothing’s familiar transparent aesthetic with a precision-crafted metal unibody. This gives the mid-range handset a more premium feel than previous models. Furthermore, the design improves durability. It offers IP65 dust and water resistance and protection against submersion up to 25cm for 20 minutes.
The transparent look remains a key part of Nothing’s identity, but the Pro version refines it further. Its rear integrates the camera system and the upgraded Glyph Matrix. This creates a cleaner, gapless finish that refracts light through the metal and glass body. As for colours, options include silver, black and metallic pink.
The Glyph system itself gets a notable upgrade. Instead of the segmented light strips used previously, the Glyph Matrix uses 137 mini-LEDs, covering a 57% larger area. It is now twice as bright at around 3000 nits. It still functions as a notification system and lights up for calls, messages, charging progress and timers. Additionally, it supports custom light patterns for different contacts and alerts.
Photography is another big focus. The Phone (4a) Pro features a Sony LYT700C main camera with OIS, paired with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom and up to 140x zoom overall. This is the longest zoom ever on a Nothing phone. A Sony ultra-wide lens and 32MP selfie camera round out the setup. Meanwhile, Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 4 enables Ultra XDR photos and 4K Ultra XDR video.
Up front, the Pro model uses a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 450ppi and a 144Hz refresh rate. Peak HDR brightness reaches 5000 nits. The screen supports 2500Hz touch sampling and 2160Hz PWM dimming, all protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Nothing says this delivers 27% faster CPU performance, 30% better graphics and 65% stronger AI performance compared with previous models. The handset runs Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. This brings redesigned icons, improved widgets and new AI tools such as Essential Search and Essential Memory.
The Phone (4a) Pro also packs a 5080mAh battery with 50W fast charging, capable of reaching 60% in around 30 minutes.
