A senior member of the Google DeepMind development team, Omar Sanseviero, publicly invited members of Qwen to join the company in a post on the social media platform X. “Qwen friends: if any of you want a new home to build great models and contribute to the open models ecosystem, please reach out! Lots of exciting things in the roadmap and so much to build ahead of us.” The comment comes as the Qwen team is undergoing personnel changes. Lin Junyang, the technical lead of the Qwen series of large language models, along with several core team members, has recently departed. Lin had previously been appointed as the technical head of the Qwen model family at Alibaba Group, becoming the youngest P10-level technical leader within the company. [TechNode Reporting]
