Disney+ and Hulu pioneered the streaming service merger, and now have a combined login, so you can get Hulu either in its own app or as a Disney+ channel. Disney leads with the Marvel and Star Wars franchises, while Hulu serves a more mature audience with movies and shows from network partners like Fox.
The two services release a large amount of things to watch every week, so I’ll make it easy for you by picking three worthwhile items to put on your calendar. This week is almost all documentaries and reality shows, but there are some must-watch items on the agenda. The full list of content coming to the streaming services is below.
This Week on Hulu and Disney+: PCMag’s Picks
Friends Like These: The Murder of Skylar Neese (March 6, Hulu)
Hulu has a ton of true crime this week, and if you really want a bummer of a story, documentary Friends Like These is going to really hit the spot. In 2012, 16-year-old Skylar Neese vanished from her West Virginia home in the middle of the night. When her corpse was found across the state line, an investigation began that would implicate two of her oldest friends in her brutal murder.

Ghost Elephants (March 8, Disney+/Hulu)
Legendary director Werner Herzog is a man who follows his obsessions, and his latest documentary, Ghost Elephants, takes him to Africa to travel with naturalist Dr. Steve Boyes to try and find proof of a giant Angolan elephant that has never been photographed. Herzog takes what could be a standard National Geographic wilderness film and infuses it with deep moral questions about our search for meaning in the unknown. Highly recommended.

Sunny Nights (March 11, Hulu)
This is an interesting one: a sitcom with American stars that was first produced and aired in Australia. Sunny Nights stars D’Arcy Carden and Will Forte as a pair of siblings trying to launch a spray tan company out of the back of their van, only for things to go from bad to worse when they’re blackmailed, indebted to a criminal syndicate, and running for their lives.
