Gran Turismo series developer Polyphony Digital has partnered with Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi to bring the latter’s SU7 Ultra to the driving simulator game, making the electric sedan the first Chinese-manufactured vehicle to appear in the game’s history, the companies announced on June 7. PlayStation 4 and 5 owners will get access to the vehicle in a future update to Gran Turismo 7, the latest title in the popular gaming series, according to official announcements. The road-legal race car boasts a striking balance between excitement and everyday comfort, and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 1.98 seconds and driving up to 630 kilometers (392 miles) on a single charge. More than 23,000 customers had placed their orders for the real life car with RMB 20,000 ($2,782) non-refundable deposits, Xiaomi president Lu Weibing told investors during an earnings call on May 27.
