Lenovo reviews its news and bets on AI in its Lenovo ThinkUpdate
SHARE

The Lenovo offices in Madrid yesterday hosted the Think Update 2026the annual event with which the company updates the specialized press about its professional portfolio. An intense day in which devices (laptops, desktops, workstations and accessories) shared the spotlight with a clear vision of where the company is heading in terms of artificial intelligence. The message was clear: agentic AI is no longer science fiction, and Lenovo wants to be the technological partner that accompanies companies in that transition.

Agentic AI, at the center of the strategy

Juan José MarcillaCommercial Product Manager of Lenovo Iberia, opened the session by underlining the magnitude of the change that is coming. Business interest in AI agents has continued to grow year after year, but the vast majority of companies have not yet deployed agentic AI on a large scale and recognize that they need more than a year to be truly ready. “Lenovo is prepared for this agentic AI model and we have parameterized and tested solutions in different industries and for different uses, from improving customer service to internal help agents for sustainability matters,” said Marcilla.

The company presented its model of Hybrid AI as the natural response to this scenario. The majority of organizations already prefer hybrid or on-premises deployments for their AI loads, compared to a minority that relies exclusively on the public cloud. Lenovo articulates its proposal around the Lenovo Hybrid AI Factorywhich integrates AI models and agent platforms, data and knowledge management, and hybrid infrastructure, all complemented by Lenovo Hybrid AI Services. An ecosystem that literally spans from your pocket to the cloud: ThinkPad, Motorola devices, ThinkStation, edge computing solutions and data center infrastructure with ThinkAgile and ThinkSystem, powered by liquid cooling Lenovo Neptune as a standard of energy efficiency.

Governance also emerged as a central concern. Only a quarter of organizations surveyed have comprehensive AI governance frameworks in place, even though more than half are already systematically adopting AI. Lenovo positions itself here not only as a hardware provider, but as an enabler of responsible and scalable adoption across the enterprise.

Qira: the assistant who learns from you and follows you everywhere

Jorge HernandezClient Technologist of Lenovo Iberia, presented RENTAL as the core of the AI product strategy. It is not an assistant linked to a single device, but rather a transversal AI that lives in all new Lenovo devices (laptop, smartphone, wearables) and that synchronizes task tracking between them. “Learning from us and becoming a true integral assistant,” summarized Hernández. He ThinkCentre X AIOfor example, incorporates a Turbo AI engine and DeskView with AI to understand digital and paper content, with Qira as an orchestration layer that connects the entire experience.

If AI is the driving force, repairability is the sustainable commitment that Lenovo wants to set in stone. Hernández expressly underlined this: “One of the areas where Lenovo is investing and innovating the most is in repairability in all ranges, including, of course, the highest ones.” The new ThinkPad T14 Series boasts an industry leader in repairability and earns the top score in industry repairability indices. He ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition features better component accessibility with an innovative frame design, and the keyboard can be replaced in less than three minutes. A trend that connects directly with European regulatory requirements and with the growing demand from IT departments to extend the useful life of their fleets.

ThinkPad X1 Fold

The device that defies categories remains the most striking in the catalog. with his 16-inch foldable OLED displaythe X1 Fold effortlessly goes from large creative canvas to compact laptop. Unprecedented versatility for those who work in very different environments throughout the day, representing the future of personal and flexible computing. The flagship of business ultraportables, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition, arrives with less than a kilogram in weighta renewed frame design that facilitates access to components and substantial improvements to multimedia collaboration functions, including a 10 MP smartphone-quality camera. The new generation maintains the bar that makes the X1 Carbon a reference in the premium segment for professionals on the move.

On the other hand, the ThinkPad X9 15p Aura Edition is the most powerful bet in the laptop range. built in milled aluminumthis Copilot+ PC combines Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processors with an Intel Arc GPU and up to 64 GB of RAM. Your screen 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED at 120Hzcalibrated by X-Rite, guarantees professional color accuracy. The 88 Wh battery promises all-day battery life even with the most intensive workloads, making it a fully-fledged portable workstation.

ThinkBook 14x y ThinkPad T14 Series

He ThinkBook 14x It is presented as the only ThinkBook under one kilogram, with a 2.8K OLED screen and only 12.9 mm thick in premium materials. He T14 Series It incorporates the expected new 2-in-1 format, also available for the first time with a 2.8K OLED screen, and debuts the Cosmic Blue color along with the latest generation LPCAMM memory, also consolidating itself as the sector’s reference in repairability. The ThinkPad X13 Detachable convertible tablet with 13-inch 2.8K screen and variable frequency between 60 and 120 Hz VRR It features a laptop-level keyboard with a pen integrated into the case and a Rugged case option for more demanding environments. A balanced proposal for professionals who need maximum portability without giving up the productivity of a conventional laptop.

One of the most unique new features of the event is the ThinkCentre X AIO: the industry’s first 16:18 All-in-One. With a 16:18 screen ratiounusual on the market, and processors up to Panther Lake 12Xe, this AIO integrates advanced collaboration features such as split view, 16 MP camera with HPD powered by AI and four microphones with algorithmic sound capture and Harman Kardon speakers with spatial audio. The Share Zone from Lenovo allows screen extension and data exchange between PCs in a simple way, while facial recognition for automatic power on and EPEAT Gold certification complete a very balanced profile between power, usability and sustainability.

Also arriving is the P3 Tower Gen 2 Workstation and smart accessories for professionals in CAD design, 3D rendering or complex data analysis, P3 Tower Gen 2 offers an easy-access chassis and customizable configuration without compromising reliability. In the accessories ecosystem, the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 5 Smart Dockwith support for multiple 8K monitors and smart power charging using a single cable, and the ThinkPad Dual-Mode Wireless ANC Foldable Headsetwith active noise cancellation and folding design designed for hybrid work.

End-to-end security with ThinkShield

The security platform ThinkShield It also occupied a prominent part of the presentations. Its advanced protection proposal is articulated in four pillars: supply chain protection with verifiable hardware and software; fleet-level firmware defense against advanced devices and attacks; intelligent security with AI and XDR to protect against ransomware, phishing and data loss before they happen; and ongoing expert support. All this covering from below-the-OS to the cloud under a single trusted provider.

Motorola also has its place: Private Image in Moto Secure

The event also reserved space for news in the mobile ecosystem. Moto Secure incorporates the function Private Imagewhich allows you to disable the inclusion of sensitive metadata (location, device information) in screenshots and photos. A feature that responds to growing concerns about privacy in professional environments where the mobile phone is an extension of the workplace.

A nod to the future could not be missing. He ThinkBook Rollableshown as a conceptual prototype, is a laptop with a roll-up screen that dynamically expands the workspace according to the needs of the moment. With no confirmed marketing date, its presence at the event served to make it clear that Lenovo continues to focus on disruptive form factors, beyond the folding models it already has in its catalogue.

Lenovo consolidates its position as a comprehensive AI partner

The Think Update 2026 left a clear impression: Lenovo does not want to be just the desktop PC manufacturer, but the technological partner that accompanies organizations throughout the AI value chain, from the device in the pocket to the server in the data center. RENTAL as a common thread between devices, the repairability as a commitment to the sustainability and longevity of fleets, and a strategy of Hybrid AI that does not give up either the power of the cloud or local control. These are the three messages that Lenovo wants IT managers to take home. The 2026 portfolio lives up to that ambition.
