AMD today sent out another batch of AMDGPU kernel graphics driver and AMDKFD kernel compute driver changes to DRM-Next ahead of next month’s Linux 7.1 merge window.

With Linux 7.0, AMD began sending patches for enabling the GFX12.1 graphics IP as some yet unreleased RDNA4 variant past GFX12.0 that represented the Radeon RX 9000 series hardware thus far and short of the GFX13 IP that is being enabled and presumably for RDNA5. With Linux 7.1, there is yet more GFX12.1 enablement happening as well as preparing some other graphics IP blocks for upcoming AMD products.

Earlier this month was some GFX12.1 patches already queued for Linux 7.1 while today’s pull request has more patches for that unreleased graphics processor IP both for the AMDGPU and AMDKFD drivers. There is also MES 12.1 scheduler updates as part of today’s pull, DML updates, and PSP 13.0.15 platform security processor updates. Those new IP blocks may be tied to GFX 12.1 or could be for other new products, but due to the block-by-block enablement strategy and the dynamic topology handling, it’s difficult to determine externally at this time.

This pull request for Linux 7.1 also has various fixes such as for DisplayID handling, TLB fences, user-queue “UserQ”, and more. There is even a fix for old AMD Hainan GCN 1.0 GPUs in this pull.
