Best movies in the Netflix top 10

‘Anaconda’ (2025)

I didn’t expect to like “Anaconda” as much as I did, and now I hope more sequels take the same deliriously meta route. It stars Paul Rudd as Griff, a background actor struggling for work, and Jack Black as his best friend Doug, a wedding videographer in their hometown of Buffalo who never realized his Hollywood dreams. That changes when Griff reveals he’s secured the rights to the 1997 movie “Anaconda,” and they set off to the Amazon to make their own indie movie version of the blockbuster. It sets off a comedy of errors and biting commentary on the movie industry at large.

Six years after the premiere of her Lance Armstrong documentary, director Marina Zenovich is back with a new documentary on a horrific tragedy that rocked the cycling world: the 2022 murder of rising competitive cycling star Moriah Wilson. “The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson” goes beyond the headlines to explore the impact of this devastating crime on those who knew and loved Moriah most for a deeply compelling story of loss, love, and the ways grief can transform our lives — even in the darkest of times. It’s a surprisingly heartfelt and hopeful turn for a true crime documentary, so it’s worth checking out this weekend if that’s your jam.

Watch On

Horror fans out there won’t want to miss “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.” Our young protagonist from “28 Years Later” Spike (Alfie Williams) is forced to join a sadistic cult led by Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell), who kills and tortures other survivors of the rage virus that’s turned the U.K. into a zombie-infested wasteland. But when Jimmy’s unorthodox leadership starts being scrutinized, it puts him on a collision course with the enigmatic Dr. Ian Kelson (Ralph Fiennes), leading to one of the most unhinged scenes I’ve seen in years.
