The consulting firm Nunsys Group has carried out the implementation of a new analytical architecture based on Microsoft Fabric to AIMPLASthe Plastics Technological Institute. The project has made it possible to centralize information, eliminate data silos and evolve towards a fully organizational model data-drivenimproving the operational efficiency and decision making.
With more than 35 years promoting sustainable innovation around plastic materials, AIMPLAS has a portfolio of 3,500 customers all over the world. Its activity covers sectors such as container and packaging, automotive, aeronautics, energy, agriculture, construction or healthwhere it develops R&D projects, technological services and specialized training. For all this, the center was faced with fragmented information management that required urgent analytical modernization: the absence of a unified infrastructure generated multiple data islandsslowing down analysis processes and reducing the business’s ability to react.
“We needed a solution that would allow us scale our business without losing speed or quality, with greater capacity for anticipation and faster decision making,” he explains. Pablo Hernandez, Head of Digital Transformation at AIMPLAS. To respond to this challenge, Nunsys Group designed and implemented an architecture based on Microsoft Fabric, a platform that integrates all the data cycle (from ingestion and preparation, to analysis and visualization) and that incorporates capabilities of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics.
The solution is complemented by other Microsoft solutions such as Power BItool business intelligence that allows you to create interactive dashboards and democratize access to data analysis within the organization, and with Copilotthe AI assistant that makes it easy to automatically create reports, queries and visualizations from natural language.
The results have been immediate: according to data from the organization itself, information analysis and consolidation processes that previously required up to three days of workare now completed in less than an hour thanks to the automation of processes and centralized access to information.
“This project demonstrates how a solid data governance and advanced analytics strategy can become a innovation engine and competitiveness”, concludes Paco Gavilanpresident of Nunsys Group. “Our mission is to accompany organizations like AIMPLAS in their transition towards a data-based business model, where information becomes a true strategic asset for the business.”
Looking to the future, AIMPLAS plans to extend the use of Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Copilot to new areas of the organization, delving into predictive capabilities based on machine learning and in the incorporation of Generative AI to eliminate manual processes and evolve towards a smarter and more resilient operating model.
