What’s new in the Nextcloud Hub 26 Spring version
Other changes in the Nextcloud Hub 26 Spring version affect the Nextcloud Talk app for video and voice conferencing.
These include AI-based noise cancellation and the ability to start a call from any Nextcloud Hub app – an addition intended to make collaborative editing easier, says Poortvliet.
There are also new functions for AI agents for the Nextcloud Assistant. In addition to existing features such as managing calendars and tasks, they can now create cards in Nextcloud’s task management app Deck and update information in the Forms app.
In addition, the user interface has also been improved. The wizard window can now be moved so as not to obscure other applications. This also makes it easier to copy and paste text without having to open another tab.
In order to meet the requirements of the EU AI law, Nextcloud will also make it more transparent in the future which provider provides the underlying Large Language Model (LLM) for the assistant.
In addition, the AI assistant is integrated directly into Nextcloud’s office applications. For example, users can receive support with problems such as spreadsheet errors via a chat interface in the sidebar.
