Continuously collecting feedback from teams helps identify unnecessary process steps, duplicate work, or inefficient approvals. At the same time, early integration increases the acceptance of new workflows and automation solutions.

4. Use automation to eliminate routine work

Automation technologies are increasingly making it possible to handle routine processes such as approvals, data transfers or reporting automatically. This eliminates repetitive administrative work that does not require human judgment.

Instead of controlling operational processes, employees can concentrate on tasks that require analysis, decision-making skills and creativity. The aim of automation is not to replace people, but to enable them to focus on value-adding activities.

From indirect work to real productivity

At a time when productivity and competitiveness are increasingly the focus of the economic debate in Germany, reducing indirect work could be one of the most underestimated levers for increasing organizational performance. The crucial question may therefore not be how long people work – but rather how much of their work actually creates value. (mb)
