Data is currently among the most valuable resources for companies and public administrations, although many organizations do not know how they can manage data efficiently so you can tap into your full potential with confidence. In fact, 95% of organizations cannot trust the data in their possession to make accurate decisions. He European Datamite project, funded by the EU as part of the Horizon Europe program and coordinated by the ITI technology centerintends address this problem.
Datamite is an initiative funded by the European Union and supported by 24 partners from different countries. With a budget of around €11 million, it offers an innovative and accessible solution that can transform the way companies manage, share and monetize their data.
The objective of the project, in whose coordination, in addition to the Valencian ITI center, the Polytechnic University of Valencia participates, is to enhance monetization, interoperability, commerce and data traffic. To achieve this, Datamite focuses on the development of data management optimization tools, addressing, among other aspects, its governance, its quality and the secure and reliable exchange of information.
Datamite will demonstrate how data can generate value in any type of business. It will do so through three use cases focused on data exchange in the company, on the commerce and sharing of information in data spaces, and on integration with other initiatives. Among them, with data markets or Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs). To test their impact, these use cases will be deployed in six pilots for sectors such as agriculture, energy, industry, telecommunications and the environment.
Jordi Arjona, Coordinator of the ITI Distributed Systems Group, and Technical Manager of Datamitehas highlighted that «This project not only seeks to help companies develop and optimize business plans related to data exchange, but will also focus on the creation of technical material designed to facilitate the training of personnel, both in small and large companies and in public entities.
Currently, Datamite is about to begin its final year as a project, and according to Santiago Cáceres, project manager at ITI, and Datamite Coordinator«The meetings held throughout the project have marked milestones in the evolution, with numerous and significant advances. And one of the main complexities of these projects is integrating the efforts of the different partners, so activities like this are fundamental.”
