Design
In terms of design, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a significant advantage in terms of weight: with only 215 g on the scale, it is much lighter than its new competitor, which displays 248 g. With only 8.9 millimeters in closed thickness and 4.2 mm open, it is also finer than the pixel, which reaches 10.8 mm closed and 5.2 mm open.
But this new iteration of the folding pixel catches up with two major innovations: the integration of a new much stronger hinge and IP68 certification, for increased resistance to dust and humidity. It is even the first folding smartphone in the world to have it; The Galaxy Z Fold 7, for its part, is satisfied with the IP48 standard, like its predecessor.
Screen
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 stands out with its external screen slightly more generous than that of the Pixel. Slightly larger (6.5 ” against 6.4 ”) and wider (21: 9 against 20: 9), this slab also has extremely fine borders.
Inside, the two devices have a huge 8 -inch slab with a 120 Hz cooling rate. The main difference lies in display technology: slightly brighter classic OLED (peak at 3000 nits) for pixel, and amoled with more bright colors for Samsung.
Overall, they are in the same category with excellent screens, with an advantage for the Samsung in terms of format and colors, and for pixel in terms of light.
SOC and performance
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a brand new G5 Tensor chip which promises a substantial performance gain compared to the old model. Good news, knowing that Google’s smartphones accused a certain delay compared to competition on this ground. But will this be enough to win in front of his rival? Nothing is less certain, because this chip remains optimized for workloads IA rather than for raw performance.
On the other hand, this is not the case with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which relies on a safe bet: the Snapdragon 8 Elite of Qualcomm. Its reputation is well established: it is an SOC offering performance almost unequaled in the mobile ecosystem; Only the Dimensity 9400 Plus from Mediatek can compete.
It will be necessary to wait for in -depth benchmarks to deliver a rigorous verdict, but the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a good chance of leaving the winner of this duel.
Photo
Folding smartphones are traditionally not the best photophones on the market, but it is clear that the Samsung device has very serious arguments, in particular thanks to its main 200 MP sensor borrowed from the Ultra S25. Add to that an ultra-large 12 Mpx angle lens and a 10 MP 3X telephoto lens, and you get an extremely competent device in the field of photo.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold should not be ashamed. It has the same photo arsenal as its predecessor, namely a main 48 MP sensor, an ultra-large angle of 10.5 MP and a 10.8 Mpx telephoto with 5x zoom. This combination has already proven that it could produce fabulous shots, in particular thanks to the formidable Google image processing algorithms, which remarkably compensate for the gross resolution deficit.
Battery and recharge
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is equipped with a 5,010 mAh battery, 610 more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (4,400 mAh). It also displays a slightly higher wired charging speed (30 W against 25 W), and both can recover 50 % load in 30 minutes. However, they are playing on wireless recharge (15 W).
The determining factor will therefore be autonomy, and Google’s smartphone should win a short head thanks to its more imposing battery and the new G5 Tensor chip, optimized for energy efficiency.
Storage
In terms of internal storage, the pixel is only available only versions 256 and 512 GB. The Galaxy, for its part, can reach 1 TB. Admittedly, this supplement of capacity is paid at a high Price, but if you attach great importance to this criterion, it is clearly the Samsung device that is essential.
Connection
It is almost impossible to decide between them in terms of connection. The two devices have almost the same specifications: 5G support, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, USB-C 3.2 port and support for the double SIM (nano-sim + esim). The only important difference concerns Bluetooth: the pixel benefits from version 6, while the Galaxy must be satisfied with 5.4.
Prix
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a significant advantage in terms of price: its 256 GB version represents a saving of € 200 compared to its equivalent on the Samsung side (€ 1,899 against € 2,100).
Conclusion
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 could however keep its most upscale folding smartphone crown on the market, thanks to its very impressive photo arsenal, its superb Amoled slab and its fine and robust chassis. But everything indicates that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is well started to impose itself as a very serious competitor to the flagship of Samsung, thanks to its slightly lower price, its myriad of IA features, its improved sustainability and its autonomy which promises to be more generous. See you at the exit on October 9, for the final verdict!
