Samsung smartphones do not have the reputation of being stingy. On the contrary: their ONEUI overlay is full of options that are sometimes so numerous that we forget its existence. But a recent discovery of Technoskills on Tiktok is releasing the interest in one of the most hidden functions to date: a menu called Connectivity Labs, accessible only via a secret gesture in Wi-Fi settings.

A function hidden in oneui

To access it, you need a Samsung smartphone equipped with Oneui 6 or more recent – in other words, the models released after the Galaxy S20. The procedure is worthy of a treasure hunt: open the settings, go to connections> Wi-Fi, then in the wi-fi smart menu. Once on this page, you have to type seven times on the line “Intelligent Wi-Fi 7.0.0” at the bottom of the screen. A countdown is displayed then, and once finished, a new menu arises at the bottom of the page: Connectivity Labs. Phew! No need to go around the house pâté three times in underwear, that’s it.

Once activated, this panel reveals a whole series of graphics detailing the available Wi-Fi strips, network types, or the average time spent in Wi-Fi every day. But the most interesting functions are below the page, with concrete options to improve the connection experience.

Among the most useful, let us note the inspection of Wi-Fi at home. This tool performs a signal test in real time. It allows you to visualize power reductions or dead areas by moving into the house. Practical to best place a connected router or camera.

Let us also mention the faster rocking function on mobile data. The option allows the phone to go quickly to 4G/5G when the Wi-Fi signal becomes low. This avoids frequent slowdowns near an unstable public network, as outside a coffee or an office.

Finally, the Wi-Fi otions for developers display detailed information on the networks available around you, with in particular a tool listing the signal power of each access point. Precious data in congested places such as an airport or a shopping center.

Some Connectivity Labs functions are certainly aimed at advanced users. But several of them have real daily interest. And all this is free of charge in the system, without requiring additional application or complex handling.
