Motorola’s range of smartphones continues to expand and welcomes a new representative. The Moto G75 5G is positioned at the entry/mid-range for the manufacturer, banking on style and robustness to convince. Indeed, Motorola is thinking of those who need a relatively solid smartphone, but do not want to invest in a rugged model. The design of the latter is not always the priority, unlike the Moto G75 5G.
This smartphone inherits the design of the moment from Motorola, adopting the main lines of the Edge 50 series. The front leaves room for the large 6.78-inch screen, even if the slightly thick borders remind us that we are not in presence of a high-end model. On the back, the photo part takes place in a square located at the top left of the smartphone. This block protrudes slightly from the rest of the device, accommodating three cameras (including two usable sensors) and an LED flash.
The back has a matte vegan leather finish, in three different colors: anthracite gray, ocean blue and verdigris.
This design was especially designed to be “proof”explains Motorola. The Moto G75 5G benefits from MIL-STD-810H certification to better withstand drops, extreme temperatures and difficult conditions. IP68 protection is also present to make it dust-proof and able to withstand immersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Some of these features already exist on high-end smartphones, but they remain quite rare on models costing less than 300 euros.
An honest technical sheet
In order to maintain an attractive Price, Motorola is forced to make choices in terms of components. The Moto G75 5G arrives with a 6.78-inch IPS LCD screen, displaying Full HD+ (2,380 X 1,080 pixels) up to 120 Hz. The panel boasts a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits. No OLED on this model, but Motorola does not forget to offer Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the screen.
Under the hood, the recent Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 powers this smartphone. This Qualcomm chip is intended for affordable models like the G75 5G, benefiting from 4nm engraving, an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 710 GPU. It looks like a reduced variant of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 50 MP sensor and 5,000 mAh battery
The Moto G75 5G adds 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot (up to 1TB). The storage space will be used in particular to save images captured using the 50 Mpx (f/1.79) Sony LYTIA 600 main sensor. This wide-angle module benefits from the manufacturer’s Quad Pixel technology and optical image stabilization (OIS).
It is supported by an 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle (f/2.2, 118.6°) which also offers a macro function. In addition to the LED flash, we see a third sensor on the back of the device. This is a Flicker sensor which eliminates the flickering effects caused by certain artificial lights, says Motorola. On the front, a 16MP (f/2.5) front sensor is available for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone is compatible with 5G, wifi 6e or even Bluetooth 5.4. It has stereo speakers, with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. It is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, compatible with 30 W wired fast charging. Motorola claims a 50% charge in less than 25 minutes and the possibility of using wireless charging (up to 15 W) .
