If 2025 was marked by the first game from French studio Sandfall Interactivewith a Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 who swept away everything in his path… That year was also marked by the latest fiascos of MindsEyethe first game from the Build A Rocket Boy studio, founded and directed by Leslie Benzies, the former producer of the license Grand Theft Auto (between 2000 and 2014) and president of the Rockstar North studio during over 15 years old.
Between disastrous communication, mind-blowing statement from management accusing other studios, including Rockstar, of sabotaging the release of the game, and chaotic launch with a technically outdated and totally bugged game, MindsEye is clearly one of the worst video game experiences in recent years.
Alas, the sequel was not much better. Unlike CD Projekt, which turned its back after the completely failed launch of CyberPunk 2077 and who did what was necessary to rectify the situation, the management of Build A Rocket Boy continued to dig his own grave. Once again accusing other studios of harming the game, and even paying journalists and influencers to speak ill of the game.
Then followed waves of layoffs, then developers who began to testify to explain how catastrophic the working conditions were within the studio, with great toxicity, particularly on the part of Leslie Benzies, considered unstable and impulsive.
After all this sequence and this unprecedented fiasco, IO Interactive, which was testing its first game publishing experience, announced that they were pausing their publishing department. Today, we learn that the two companies are on the verge of ending their collaboration.
Build A Rocket Boy says goodbye to IO Interactive

As surprising as it may be, the decision supposedly comes from Build A Rocket Boy who wants to be the sole master of their games, their developments, their editions, in order to better control their future, whether with faster decision-making, simplified communication and increased control over the gaming experience.
As a result, the collaboration and crossover between Hitman et MindsEyeannounced during Summer Game Fest 2025 would be canceled. Still according to information from Insider-gaming, the objective of the Build A Rocket Boy teams would now be focus on bug fixing et adding content to enrich the universe of MindsEye.
