For years, the evolution of the processors has been marked by the search for more power and lower energy consumption. However, at present, artificial intelligence (AI) has become the true battlefield. With the presentation of the new Intel Core Ultra Serie 2 In the MWC 2025, the company is committed to a generation of CPUS that not only improve traditional performance, but integrate a Neuronal Processing Unit (NPU) to accelerate workloads related to AI. This new family of processors, composed of the series 200u, 200h, 200hx and 200sis specifically designed for business environments and commercial PCs, offering a balance between power, efficiency and security.
Intel has divided this new range into four main categories, each oriented to a different professional team type:
-
Intel Core Ultra 200U: designed for Ultraligeros Ultrabooks and Portables For professional use, this series prioritizes energy efficiency without compromising performance. Its architecture allows to offer prolonged autonomy, which makes it an ideal option for executives and mobility workers who need thin and light equipment without constantly depending on a charger. The management of AI in tasks such as real -time transcription or working flow automation significantly improves productivity in business environments.
-
Intel Core Ultra 200H: Focused on High performance laptops for professionalsthis series seeks to offer a balance between power and efficiency in equipment designed for content creation, data analysis and advanced software development. Thanks to its optimized processing capacity and the integration of more advanced graphics, it allows demanding applications such as 3D modeling tools, simulation and video editing in 4K. In the business sector, it is an ideal option for engineers, designers and developers that require power without sacrificing mobility.
-
Intel Core Ultra 200HX: designed for High performance mobile work stationsthis series represents the most powerful option within the portable Intel ecosystem. It is optimized for intensive workloads such as 3D rendering, advanced simulations or applied in sectors such as architecture, engineering and financial analysis. It is also a key option for development equipment in technology companies that require high -level hardware for advanced programming and artificial intelligence.
-
Intel Core Ultra 200S: Focused on Desk PCs for the Business Sector and Professional Work Stationsthis series offers a combination of power and versatility. It is designed for desktop computers that require sustained performance in tasks such as Computer Assisted Design (CAD), Professional Video Edition, Big Data Analysis and Machine Learning. It is also the preferred option in internal data centers and for professionals who work with multiple demanding applications simultaneously.
One of the most prominent aspects of this new generation is the inclusion of a Neuronal Processing Unit (NPU)a key component in the acceleration of tasks related to artificial intelligence. This NPU allows a substantial improvement in the performance of tasks such as real -time translation, processes automation through Machine Learning and advanced data management. In addition, the new Arrow Lake hybrid architecture allows a better integration of the NPU with the CPU and the GPU, optimizing the efficiency in intensive workloads.
In addition to the improvement in AI, Intel has introduced other advances in series 2 that make an important difference with respect to the previous generation. These processors are manufactured in An Optimized Intel 4 process, which is a 7 nanometers processand have a new architecture based on chipletswhich allows to better distribute the workload between the different nuclei and improve energy efficiency. They have also incorporated support for memories DR5-6400which significantly increase bandwidth, and compatibility with PCIe 5.0which allows greater transfer speeds in storage and business systems that depend on large volumes of data.
Graphic performance has also been optimized with integration of the intel Xe-LPGthat improve efficiency in multimedia tasks, edition and graphic modeling without the need for a dedicated GPU. These improvements especially benefit from the 200u and 200H series models, designed for portable business teams where the balance between power and consumption is key. In the case of 200S series desktop models, the combination of the new architecture with greater thermal capacity allows higher frequencies and sustained performance in demanding workloads.
The evolution of the processors has entered a new era in which Artificial intelligence and energy efficiency are as important as gross power. With the arrival of the Intel Core Ultra (Series 2), the Blue Giant seeks to consolidate its leadership in the professional sector, offering optimized solutions for the era of computing with AI. The great unknown is whether this advance will be enough to maintain its advantage in a market where innovation has become the key to success.
