The pace of innovation in AI is unprecedented, and it’s difficult to keep up with the latest tools, models, and workflows.

That’s why we’re excited to spotlight Seattle’s leading technologists and their favorite AI tools to get a pulse on what’s being used and how it’s creating value.

First up: Kevin Leneway, a principal software engineer at Pioneer Square Labs.

Favorite tools: Cursor (AI-powered code editor) and Midjourney (AI image and video generator)

How he uses Cursor: “I spend most of my day in Cursor and I have a solid workflow that greatly accelerates my ability to build new products.”

  • Why he likes Cursor: “A lot of devs I know have been switching to Claude Code, but I like going deep on one tool that has the ability to switch between different model providers so I can always be using the right model for the job at hand.”

How he uses Midjourney: “For the recent Bolt Hackathon, I tried my hand at building a throwback choose-your-own-adventure style game and used Midjourney to create all of the assets.”

  • Why he likes Midjourney: “They recently added two very useful features: video generation and Omni Reference. Omni Reference allows you to use the same character for multiple images, so you can do things like create consistent characters in a longer story arc. The video generation feature is quite strong and overall I thought the quality was quite good.”
