Alberto Retana, new director of Institutional Relations and Enertic governance

The Enertic platform has strengthened its structure with the incorporation of Alberto Retana as the new director of Institutional Relations and Governance. This appointment underlines Enertic’s commitment to the promotion of collaboration between public and private sectors to promote sustainability and energy efficiency through digitalization.

Retana provides a solid career of more than 30 years in the technological sector, complemented by a recent experience as a high position in the public administration. His career covers positions of Leadership in outstanding companies such as IBM, Oracle, Meta4, Bull Spain and Veritas where he focused on the development of innovative solutions and the creation of technological ecosystems focused on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and other enabling technologies.

In addition, he has shared his knowledge in the academic field, as the author of subjects of the Public Sector Digital Transformation Master in the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) And as a speaker at the International Digital Transformation MBA of the Alfonso X El Sabio University (Uax).

In its most recent role as general director of Digital Policy of the Community of MadridRetana led key initiatives as the first CAM Digitalization Strategy and the first Citizen’s digital training plan. It was also the promoter of the first Community cybersecurity agency. Its management was characterized by the promotion of collaboration between public administrations, companies and knowledge centers.

All this translated into the Digital Transformation Council of the Community of Madridhe European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH Madrid Region) and four technological clusters focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, blockchain and the Internet of things, all under an associative model to promote open and sustainable innovation ecosystems.

Francisco Verderas, founder of Enertic, highlights the importance of this incorporation: «The trajectory of Alberto Retana, both in the institutional and technological sector, provides a strategic vision that reinforces our connection capacity with the key actors of the ecosystem. Its incorporation represents an important impulse to consolidate our initiatives and advance in the common objectives of energy efficiency and sustainability thanks to digitalization ».

In his new position, and in close collaboration with the presidents of the expert committees, Alberto Retana will play a fundamental role in strengthening Enertic relations with entities and institutions, contributing his valuable experience in the field of institutional relations and public-private collaboration.
