If your conversations with Alexa+ are getting too sweet or mundane, you can try a new personality type that makes you feel like you’re talking to a mean teenager.
According to Amazon, the new Sassy personality is unfiltered, and it can respond with “razor-sharp wit, playful sarcasm, and occasional censored profanity.” The goal is to keep chats interesting with entertaining banter and clever comebacks, the company adds.
Sassy is the fourth Alexa+ personality, joining Brief, Sweet, and Chill, announced last month. To make your voice assistant Sassy on an Echo device, just say, “Alexa, change your personality style to Sassy.” On the Alexa app, go to the Devices tab, select your device, tap Settings > Alexa’s Personality Style. Personality styles are device-specific, so changing it on one compatible device won’t affect it on all.
Sassy comes with a few security checks. Since it may swear occasionally, the mode isn’t available when Amazon Kids is enabled. Adults, on the other hand, need to undergo a facial check to use the new style, News reports.
It won’t be the same Grok’s spicy AI Companions, the report adds. Though the chatbot may discuss mature subjects, it reportedly won’t get into explicit sexual content, personal attacks, hate speech, or self-harm. OpenAI also has plans to add an adult mode for ChatGPT, but that won’t arrive until the company fixes its age-prediction system.
