Smartphone owners can end up spending hundreds on cloud storage for their photos.
Cloud storage is essential for making sure you don’t lose precious memories should your phone break, become lost or stolen.
Apple’s iCloud costs a maximum of £54.99 per month for 12TB of storage space, working out to £660 for an entire year.
Even if you’re using the cheapest iCloud option at 99p per month you could save £12 a year on this often forgotten bonus from Amazon.
Meanwhile, Android users have to pay a maximum of £18.99 a month for the best Google One storage plan.
That comes to £228 every year.
And the cheapest option is £1.59 a month, costing £19.08 for 12 months.
Few Prime subscribers realise that they actually receive unlimited free photo storage as part of their membership.
So if you transfer all your precious photo memories to Prime you can get rid of iCloud and Google Drive.
Storage for videos on Amazon Photos is limited to 5GB.
But don’t forget, you still receive 5GB free from iCloud and 15GB from Google Drive, so you could spread your videos across those so you never have to pay for cloud storage again.
There are other provides such as Microsoft’s OneDrive and DropBox that allow you to keep videos backed up for free too.
Just download the Amazon Photos app on the App Store or Google Play and sign into your Prime account to start saving.
More Prime perks you’ve missed
Photo storage isn’t the only perk Amazon offers with Prime membership.
Users often forget that they can get free takeaway deliveries too.
Your subscription entitles you to a year’s worth of Deliveroo Plus Silver, which usually costs £3.49 per month.
That works out at £41.88 for an entire year.
