JD.com has launched Joybuy in the United Kingdom, introducing a new e-commerce marketplace.

The launch places Joybuy directly into competition with established platforms, including Amazon and other major UK retailers.

Joybuy enters the UK market with a product catalogue that spans consumer technology, home appliances, beauty products, groceries, and everyday essentials, reflecting a marketplace model that mirrors broad category retailers rather than niche ecommerce platforms focused on a single product segment.

The platform lists products from widely recognised brands, including Apple, Samsung, Sony, Lenovo, DJI, Philips, LG, and PlayStation, positioning Joybuy as a destination for established consumer electronics and household names rather than relying primarily on third-party marketplace sellers.

Delivery network and logistics model

Joybuy launches with a logistics system built around a same-day delivery service called Double 11, which enables customers who place orders before 11 am to receive deliveries before 11 pm on the same day in eligible locations. Nice, if you can get it.

The service currently covers more than 17 million people across approximately 4.5 million households in cities including London, Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham, Oxford, and Cambridge, while other areas of the United Kingdom receive next-day or standard nationwide delivery options.

Orders that qualify for the Double 11 service receive same-day delivery at no extra cost when the order value exceeds £29, which contrasts with the paid priority shipping models commonly used by competing e-commerce platforms.

Platform features and membership service

The platform obviously includes a subscription service in JoyPlus. Like Amazon Prime, this provides unlimited free delivery with no minimum order requirement alongside loyalty rewards through a points system that converts purchases into credits for future orders.

Joybuy launches simultaneously in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, while JD.com continues expanding warehouse capacity and logistics infrastructure as the company scales its European retail operations.
