Amazon is getting into the augmented reality glasses market, according to a report from The Information.

The Seattle-based tech giant is reportedly developing its own smart glasses for both consumers and delivery drivers.

The consumer glasses, set for launch in late 2026 or early 2027, will have microphones, speakers, a camera, and a full-color display in one eye, The Information reported. The glasses for delivery drivers will help sort packages. Reuters last year reported on specialized eyewear for drivers.

Amazon has dabbled in smart glasses, launching the Echo Frames in 2019.

Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses have been a surprise success, leading Wired to deem Meta the winner of the smart glasses race.

Meta is expected to show off its new Hypernova smart glasses with a display at its Connect event next week.
