Amazon’s big-screen Kindle Scribe is more affordable than ever

Amazon’s Kindle e-readers arguably lead the e-reader segment, and the company hopes that its big-screen Scribe can achieve similar success in the burgeoning e-ink tablet market. While it’s usually a premium device, an Amazon deal brings it down to its cheapest price yet.

For a limited time, you can score an impressive $100 off the Kindle Scribe (16GB), bringing the premium big-screen e-reader down to a more affordable $299 in the US. This marks the most significant discount on the Scribe since its launch in late 2024, so be quick if you want to bag yourself a healthy discount on Amazon’s most capable e-reader.

With $100 off, this is the cheapest the Kindle Scribe has been since its launch at the end of 2024.

What’s more, unlike some Amazon deals that are exclusive to Prime subscribers, this deal is open to any and all Amazon users.

It helps that the Kindle Scribe (2024) is a fantastic big-screen e-reader that achieved an impressive four stars and the Trusted Reviews Recommended award when we reviewed the device at launch.

In essence, it offers the core Kindle experience, along with a few additional extras that help justify its (usually) premium price point.

Chief among which is support for a stylus, turning the 10.2-inch glare-free e-ink tablet into a notepad. And, with a textured finish on the screen, the experience closely emulates the traditional writing experience, complete with an ‘eraser’ on the end of the stylus to erase mistakes quickly.

There are even a few AI features, including the ability to transcribe your handwritten notes into standard text for sharing via email – and it works flawlessly, even with our reviewers’ messier-than-average handwriting.

It’s more than a notebook though; it also offers the same frankly huge library of ebooks and audiobooks from the Kindle and Audible libraries, and you can even annotate directly in books – great for studies and the like.

It might not offer support for third-party Android apps like the Onyx Boox Go 10.3, but if you’re on the hunt for a big-screen e-ink tablet for note-taking and reading, you’ll struggle to find better than the Amazon Kindle Scribe – especially at its newly discounted price point.
