AMD has announced the retail launch of its new Radeon AI PRO R9700 graphics card. Intended especially for professional workstations that need artificial intelligence acceleration, it will be available from October 27 with official Price of $1,299.
The graphics card was one of the novelties presented by AMD at Computex 2025. At its launch, the company distributed it in the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and system integrators segment. Supply limitations left no option for the retail channel and/or individuals who set up their own workstations. The launch is now complete.
Radeon AI PRO R9700, alternative to NVIDIA
AMD focuses the card to cover a wide range of uses, from professional visualization to AI acceleration at the edge, through local AI inference, model fine-tuning and complex creative workloads and, where higher performance is necessary, with scalability for multi-GPU systems. It is no secret that it is positioned as an alternative to NVIDIA solutions and specifically with the new RTX PRO 5000.
Its specifications are known. This is an improved version of the Radeon RX 9070 XT for the consumer market. Based on architecture RDNA 4takes full advantage of the 4nm “Navi 48” silicon, allowing for 64 compute units for a total of 4,096 shaders. It has 32 GB of dedicated GDDR6 memory at 20 Gbps (twice the consumer variant) on a 256-bit interface on the chip, providing a bandwidth of 640 GB/s. The card has a total power of 300 W.
It has 128 AI accelerators second generationoffering up to twice the performance of the previous generation and full compatibility with the ROCm software stack on Linux and upcoming support for its equivalent on Windows. With these specifications, AMD ensures that the Radeon AI PRO R9700 reaches up to 96 TFLOPs of FP16 performance and up to 1531 TOPS of AI (INT4 sparse).
The Radeon AI PRO R9700 also scales efficiently in multi GPU configurationswith the possibility of equipping up to four of them to expand memory and computing capacity for large models and parallel tasks. This flexibility makes it ideal for advanced workstations handling complex simulations, real-time rendering, or concurrent AI workloads.
The Radeon AI PRO R9700 has an official price of $1,299 and should be available in the retail channel next week.
