AMD is preparing to release a compliant AI chip tailored for the Chinese market, aiming to expand its influence in the region. The chip is expected to launch in July. AMD’s offering is based on the RDNA4 architecture and comes in the form of the Radeon AI PRO R9700 workstation GPU. Industry insiders suggest that AMD’s AI chip will feature specifications comparable to NVIDIA’s, with similar performance potential. However, NVIDIA continues to hold an edge thanks to its robust software ecosystem. To attract Chinese customers to its workstation-class GPUs, AMD is likely to leverage more competitive pricing, stable supply, and ample inventory. [Jiwei, in Chinese]
