Google has changed the Android operating system to a drastic level if we see the journey from the beginning. And out of all the things that we have seen in the OS, the Android notification emerges as one of the most amazing elements. It allows the users to get all the info related to most of the apps in a single place. Whether it is about checking your WhatsApp messages, replying to them, or getting an idea of where your food delivery order is, you can do it all from the notifications panel.
Android 16 Notification Cooldown feature
Now, after a long time, Google is going to bring a new feature ‘Notification Cooldown’ for our friendly-neighborhood notification panel with the Android 16 operating system. In addition to that, we will also get to see a categories section in the notifications panel similar to how we see in Gmail that separates the emails on the basis of promotions, important, etc.
In a report published by Android Authority, it has been revealed that one of their Android experts Mishaal Rahman found a Bundled notifications settings page under the settings>notifications in the latest beta version of Android 15 QPR2.
The feature will most probably group and silence similar kinds of notifications so that the users face little to no distraction when someone starts exploding their inbox or they have a package delivery from a vendor like Amazon. Some of the categories that we will get to see in the notifications panel are Recommendations, Social, News, Promotions, etc.
The feature will be disabled by default and the users will be supposed to enable it in case they want to sort their notification panel. The feature was not working on the mentioned Android 15 version which means that it is under development and will be most probably functional with the next version of Android OS. It will be a boon for the users who get hundreds of notifications on a day-to-day basis.
