Anker's Versatile Home Battery Backup Hybrid System Is Now Available to Buy

Anker’s not a newcomer to the portable power station and home battery backup market. We’ve tested and recommended a fair number of its power stations that offer home backup capabilities, including the Anker Solix F3800 Plus, which currently holds a spot on our list of the best tested portable power stations.

The Anker Solix E10, now available to buy for $3,799 as a launch deal, is unique because it’s not just a standalone home backup or portable power station. It integrates a battery, solar and a smart fuel generator to keep your home powered with three different methods during an outage or emergency. According to Anker, it’s scalable, allowing you to add multiple batteries. It also features DIY-friendly installation and is stackable, which is not typically the case for home power backups of this capacity.

E10 power capabilities and connectivity

One E10 unit can provide up to 37.2 kilowatt (kW) of power, letting it power demanding appliances, including a 5-ton AC. A dual set of E10s can provide up to 66kW of power. The unit supports a turbo output of 10 kW per unit, for up to 90 minutes, allowing you to power more demanding appliances and protect essentials like medical devices, refrigeration, and Wi-Fi when needed.

You can pair it with the Power Dock, which provides a 200-amp whole-home backup by powering every circuit in the home, rather than just a select few, as is typically the case with most home backups. The power dock also supports 20 20-millisecond switchover, which should be enough protection for appliances.

You can also install a Smart Inlet Box as an alternative to the Power Dock, providing manual switchover during outages and supporting grid charging with existing solar systems.

The system comes with a variety of additional add-ons that enhance its functionality, such as the Smart Inlet Box.

One of Anker’s biggest selling points with the E10 is the scalability. The 6kWh batteries are modular, allowing you to combine three E10 units to achieve up to 90kWh. This capacity provides 15 days of backup power for a family, making it a suitable option for an extended power outage.

Each E10 unit supports 9kW solar input or 27kW for three units. Anker says it’s compatible with all solar panels, including rigid, portable and third-party AC solar systems. The Smart Generator can also charge the battery directly through a DC connection.

The E10 has an all-metal NEMA 4 enclosure with F1 UV protection. Anker says it can operate reliable in temperatures ranging from -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 131 degrees Farnheit. It supports wall and floor mounting.

One E10 unit can provide 37.2 kW of power, helping to keep critical circuits running during grid failures caused by weather, wildfires or maintenance.

Official sales start Feb. 4. The E10 base system, which includes one inverter and one battery, starts at $4,299 at full price, but you can currently get the E10, consisting of a power module and battery, on sale for $3,799. The E10 and a Smart Inlet Box will cost $6,599. The E10, battery and Power Dock are $7,799. The most expensive setup, which includes the E10 base system, one additional battery, a power dock and a smart generator, will run you $9,399, though you can mix and match units as you see fit.

Between Feb. 4 to Feb. 28, you can also get a free 400W solar panel, accessory kit and three-year warranty extension on top of the five-year warranty all the systems come with.
