America’s Next Top Model star Tiffany Richardson, who fought with host Tyra Banks in an infamous scene, suffered an unspeakable tragedy when her son was shot and killed at a GameStop in Florida.
The U.S. Sun can exclusively report that the 42-year-old former reality star’s son Chadrick Coats died during an alleged failed robbery in Pembroke Pines on October 17, 2023. He was just 21 years old.

According to the police report obtained by The U.S. Sun, GameStop manager and former Marine Derrick Guerrero spotted Coats grabbing $600 in Pokemon trading cards and booster packs from behind the counter then running out of the store.
Guerrero told cops he fired a “warning shot,” but mistakenly hit Coats in the back and chest.
Coats allegedly screamed and ran to his truck, where his girlfriend was waiting for him. She called 911.
He was rushed to the hospital, and pronounced dead three hours later.
The Miami college student was unarmed during the incident, police confirmed.
Guerrero was charged with first-degree manslaughter, and booked into jail. He posted bond and was released three days later.
“I’m really sorry for the family. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen to the family. It wasn’t my intention,” Guerrero told reporters as he left jail, according to NBC Miami.
“I’m extremely sorry for the family.”
According to county court records obtained by The U.S. Sun, he pleaded not guilty, and the case is ongoing.
He recently filed documents to be granted more freedom while on house arrest, including allowance to attend school and family events for his two young children. The request was denied.
Guerrero will return to court in July to give a deposition.
TIFFANY’S REALITY TV FAME
Richardson came the breakout star of ANTM cycle 4 in 2005 when she fought with host Banks in a moment that became a viral meme, which is still often used in online conversations 20 years later.
When outspoken Richardson, then 22, talked back to Banks and rolled her eyes during her critiques on elimination day, the host lost her cool.
“Tiffany, I’m extremely disappointed in you,” she said. “This is a joke to you. You’ve been to anger management. You’ve been through your grandmother getting her lights turned off so she can buy you a swimsuit for this competition. And you go over there and you joke and you laugh? This is serious to these girls, and this should be serious to you.”
“Looks can be deceiving, I’m hurt, I am,” Richardson said. “But I can’t change.”
After more back and forth, Banks lashed out.
“Be quiet, Tiffany! Stop it! I have never in my life yelled at a girl like this. When my mother yells like this, it’s because she loves me. I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you! How dare you! Learn something from this!” she screamed.
Richardson was then eliminated, and ultimately did not pursue a modeling career.
In a 2017 interview with Buzzfeed, Richardson said she worked at a group home in Miami for people who suffer from mental disabilities.
Her son Chadrick, whom Richardson frequently gushed over on the show, was then 14 years old, and her daughter Chaz was 9.
“I’m a completely different person,” she said of her ANTM days. “If I would’ve took advantage of the situation, it was worth it. But I knew nothing about [modeling]. I was just like in a whole new world. I was young and crazy, I didn’t get it.”
Though Richardson once had an active Instagram page, she deleted her social media, and has not spoken publicly about the horrific tragedy.
