London-based Apex Rides has raised £420k to boost its connected fitness platform built to make studio workouts more accessible, affordable and inclusive.
The investment round included participation from FundMyPitch, strategic angels and VCs, and will be used to further invest in product development and the business’s transition to a hardware-agnostic, app-first model.
Originally launched with its own at-home bikes and companion app, the business is now evolving into an open fitness ecosystem, enabling its immersive app experience to connect with any Bluetooth-enabled bike.
This strategic shift expands Apex’s addressable market, removes hardware barriers and positions the platform as a software layer for the growing base of connected fitness users worldwide.
“Opening up Apex so it works with any Bluetooth-enabled bike is a pivotal step, it makes the experience far more accessible and unlocks a much bigger market,” says Charlie Lucas, co-founder of Apex Rides.
“FundMyPitch were instrumental in closing this round. They made high-quality introductions quickly, kept momentum throughout and helped us get the raise over the line.”
In 2021, Apex Rides secured a £3m seed round with investors including former Formula 1 team boss Eddie Jordan.
