Apple is boosting its Move to iOS application to help new iPhone owners leave their Android life behind a little more quickly.

In a recently published app update Apple promises that cabled transfers of data from Android to the best iPhone models will now be faster and more seamless.

The app is designed to help Android users move across all of their contacts and messages and other to a new Android phone and speedier syncing is more than welcome

The notes promise (via MacRumors): “Faster data migration using a cabled connection between your ‌iPhone‌ and your Android phone (USB-C or USB-C to Lightning).”

Elsewhere Apple says you can connect over Wi-Fi or personal hotspot, while Apple is also offering iOS tips during the data migration. The transfers now include call history, while voice recordings will now head to the Voice Memos app or the Files app depending on the file format.

The full release notes read:

• Faster data migration using a cabled connection between your iPhone and your Android phone (USB-C or USB-C to Lightning)
• Connect over WiFi or Personal Hotspot
• iOS tips are now displayed during migration
• Call history and Dual SIM labels are now migrated
• Voice recordings are now migrated to the Voice Memos app or the Files app depending on the file format
• New languages supported: Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu

It’s a small but welcome change for new iPhone users. Last year it emerged the Move to iOS app had snuck into the top 40 apps on the Play store, which couldn’t really be construed as good news for Google.
