Kandji Survey

A new survey from Kandji highlights Apple’s rapid growth in enterprise settings and its reputation for strong security. The “Apple in the Enterprise” survey gives insights from over 300 IT professionals responsible for Apple device management at large organizations worldwide. Here’s a closer look at the findings and what they reveal about Apple’s role in modern business.

Apple continues to grow in the enterprise

Apple’s presence in the workplace is expanding quickly, with 73% of organizations reporting an increase in Apple device usage over the past year. Employees are a critical factor in this shift: 80% of C-level executives cited employee demand as the primary driver of Apple’s growth in the workplace. At the same time, security and reliability were also significant contributors. iPhones are popular, with 69% of organizations reporting increased use, while iPads are also growing, largely due to their portability for hybrid and remote work settings.

Security

Apple’s reputation with IT for security is important in increasing enterprise adoption. According to the survey, 72% of IT professionals believe Apple devices are more secure than other end-user devices, and 77% say they are easier to secure than Windows or Android devices. Additionally, 59% of respondents feel that Apple products are less susceptible to widespread cyber outages, a critical advantage as cyber threats continue to rise globally.

Apple’s security focus resonates with IT departments looking for dependable, manageable solutions in an increasingly complex security landscape. Over half (58%) of IT professionals view security as a top benefit of using Apple devices—a 10% increase over last year’s findings.

Apple’s AI approach

While security is a strong selling point, the survey also highlights some concerns around AI. A substantial 92% of IT professionals expressed concerns about artificial intelligence, with the top issues being errors, privacy risks, and security vulnerabilities. Yet when it comes to protecting end-user privacy, Apple has a distinct advantage: 71% of IT professionals believe that Apple does more to safeguard user privacy in AI applications than other tech vendors.

As a result, many companies are implementing new policies around AI usage. Nearly 67% of surveyed organizations have established restrictions, including policies, access controls, and user education, to mitigate potential AI-related risks.

Apple Vision Pro for businesses

One interesting, forward-looking insight from the report concerns the upcoming Apple Vision Pro. Although it was initially positioned as a consumer product from Apple, 67% of IT professionals see the potential for it to become a business productivity tool, highlighting Apple’s ongoing relevance and potential in business innovation. Apple also quickly added device management support to visionOS after its launch earlier this year.

Wrap up

This year’s “Apple in the Enterprise” survey from Kandji shows Apple’s competitive edge in security and privacy, two crucial areas as organizations face a rising tide of digital threats. Apple’s devices are increasingly seen as reliable and secure choices.
