The world of Artificial Intelligence is changing rapidly, with big tech giants working on giving tough competition to each other. In this regard, a new report states that Apple is working on a major upgrade to its voice assistant, Siri. The company is secretly testing a ChatGPT-like iPhone application internally. Reportedly, this new system will be more responsive, intelligent, and capable of handling complex tasks.
What is Veritas, Apple’s AI Tool
Apple is internally testing a new app called Veritas that will allow Apple employees to experiment with AI-driven features of Siri. It is currently designed as a testing platform for only Apple employees, allowing them to test multiple ongoing conversations. The app can save and reference past chats and manage extended interactions simultaneously.
Veritas supports tasks such as searching personal data, including emails and music, and performing in-app functions like photo editing.
How Veritas Will Improve User Interaction
The upcoming Siri with Veritas will be built on Apple’s Linwood system. It combines the company’s proprietary large language models with technology from third-party AI providers. This new setup by Apple is built to be more accurate in its response and can handle complete tasks efficiently.
After Veirtas is embedded in Siri’s ecosystem, it will provide improved conversations, context awareness, and personalized interactions, allowing Siri to be more practical for daily use.
Veritas Launch Timeline
The new Siri, powered by Veritas, is reported to be launched as early as March 2026. There has been some delay in the launch due to some failures in the features; however, the launch of Veritas could strengthen Apple’s role in AI markets.
Other than Veritas, the company is also to enhance its HomePod speakers, Apple TV, and web search functionality.
