After a nearly six-year absence, Razer has finally brought back Razer Synapse mouse and gaming peripheral configuration utility for Mac — kind of, at least.

For those not in the know, Razer Synapse is configuration software designed to help you get the most out of your Razer-branded devices. For gamers, that means changing key binds, customizing RGB lighting, tweaking mouse sensitivity, and creating custom profiles for different games.

The last time Synapse supported macOS was in 2018 on macOS Mojave. Support would be dropped when macOS Catalina debuted in October 2019, eliminating support for 32-bit Apps.

Razer Synapse 3 and Synapse 4 would not feature support for macOS, which left Mac users with no way to configure their beloved Razer devices. Until now, at least, as the company has just announced a new preview of Razer Synapse for Mac — but specifically for Apple Silicon machines.

Razer Synapse for Mac

To use Razer Synapse, you’ll need to run macOS 13 Ventura or newer and have a compatible Razer device. Support is far from universal, though, as the company says a limited number of devices are currently supported.

The list includes sixteen total devices as follows:

Mice

  • Razer Basilisk V3 35K | RZ01-0523
  • Razer Basilisk V3 Pro | RZ01-04620
  • Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K | RZ01-0524
  • Razer Cobra Pro | RZ01-0466
  • Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro | RZ01-04630
  • Razer Naga V2 Pro | RZ01-0440x
  • Razer Pro Click V2 Vertical Edition | RZ01-0525
  • Razer Viper V3 Pro | RZ01-0512

Mats

  • Razer Firefly V2 Pro | RZ02-0492

Keyboards

  • Razer BlackWidow V4 | RZ03-0469
  • Razer BlackWidow V4 75% | RZ03-0500
  • Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro | RZ03-0468x
  • Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro 75% | RZ03-0513
  • Razer Joro Portable Keyboard | RZ03-0236

Accessories

  • Razer HyperPolling Wireless Dongle | RC30-04410
  • Razer Mouse Dock Pro and Wireless Charging Puck | RZ81-01990x

Of course, it’s possible that Razer will add support for more devices as time goes on.

If you’re interested in trying out Razer Synapse for Mac, Razer has a helpful how-to-install guide. Because this is a preview, you should probably expect that there will be a few hiccups from time to time. If you download Razer Synapse for Mac, you’ll essentially be a bug tester, which is what Razer is counting on in the first place.
