The iPad Air M3 offers a significant advance in terms of performance and versatility, while retaining the elegant and portable design that made the success of the iPad.
An iPad ready for Apple Intelligence
Apple claims that the iPad Air M3 is almost twice as fast as its predecessor equipped with the M1 chip, and up to 3.5 times faster than the model with the A14 Bionic chip. For the first time, the iPad Air is offered in two sizes: an 11 -inch model, ideal for mobility, and a new 13 -inch model offering a more comfortable workspace. The two versions are available in four finishes: blue, purple, stellar light and sidereal gray, and several storage capacities (128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB).
Apple has also unveiled a new Magic Keyboard, specially designed for the iPad Air. It offers an improved striking experience with a larger trackpad and a new row of 14 function keys. This keyboard is fixed magnetically and connects instantly via the Smart Connector, without requiring Bluetooth. Note that the tablet is also compatible with the new Apple Pencil Pro and the Apple Pencil (USB-C).
The iPad Air M3 is designed to take full advantage of Apple Intelligence which will be available in April in France. Among the new features there is a image cleaning tool in the Photos Application, a natural language search to easily find photos and videos, or even a “image Wand” tool in the Notes application to transform sketches into detailed images. It should also be noted that Chatgpt is integrated into writing tools and Siri, users can use Chatgpt expertise without getting out of applications. In addition, users can access Chatgpt for free without creating an account. Apple finally emphasizes confidentiality and security, with in particular a treatment of artificial intelligence carried out mainly on the device thanks to the M3 chip.
The powerful M3 chip brings many improvements to the M1 chip and the previous generation models. Incorporating a more powerful 8 -core CPU, the M3 chip is up to 35 % faster than the iPad Air with M1 chip for multithreads CPU workflows. The M3 chip incorporates a 9 -hearted GPU which delivers graphic performance up to 40 % faster than those of the M1 chip. The M3 chip also introduces, for the very first time on iPad Air, Apple’s advanced graphic architecture, which supports dynamic cache, as well as Mesh Shading and Ray Tracing with hardware acceleration. For graphic rendering workflows, the iPad Air with Puce M3 provides performance up to 4x faster than the iPad Air with M1 chip. Light, reflections and shadows gain precision, and gaming experiences become extremely realistic.
The iPados 18 operating system also brings its share of new features as a new calculating application designed for the iPad, improvements in the notes application for handwriting as well as audio and transcription capacities.
The iPad Air M3 will be available on March 12 from € 719 (Wi-Fi) and € 889 (Wi-Fi + Cellular) for the 11 ″ version and from € 969 (Wi-Fi) and € 1,139 (Wi-Fi + Cellular) for the 13 ″ version. The new Magic Keyboard 11 ″ is offered at a Price of € 329, and the Magic Keyboard 13 ″, at a price of € 349.
In parallel, Apple has announced an update of the entry -level iPad, which now benefits from the A16 chip and a double storage. According to the manufacturer, compared to the iPad with A13 Bionic chip, users will see an improvement in overall performance of up to 50 %.
