Apple Vision Pro 2 May Land in Late 2025 or Spring 2026

Apple may launch an updated version of the Apple Vision Pro in late 2025 or the spring of 2026, Bloomberg reports. Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter claims that the revamped version of the $3,500 headset is likely to arrive before a more budget-friendly option is released. 

He didn’t give a great deal of detail about what the Apple Vision Pro 2 might look like, other than it will likely include an M5 chip, the next and most powerful generation of Apple’s silicon. 

“Apple is working on several ideas for its Vision headset line, but at least one version of the second-generation Vision Pro — assuming it’s released — will look almost entirely like the current design,“ Gurman says. “The big changes are internal, including a processor upgrade.”

The rumors come after Bloomberg said in September that Apple’s Vision Products Group was looking to produce a cheaper Vision headset without the “Pro” branding, costing $2,000. The budget Vision Pro would have reportedly used slightly cheaper materials and removed several features of the current version, such as EyeSight, which allows users to show their own eyes while wearing the headset.

The news comes after supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that consumers holding out for a wallet-friendly headset may be waiting until beyond 2027. Kuo argued that Apple chose to delay the cheaper Vision Pro because “simply reducing the price wouldn’t help create successful use cases.”

“It’s similar to the HomePod situation—even after launching the cheaper HomePod mini, Apple’s smart speakers failed to become mainstream products,” said Kuo.

The Apple Vision Pro headset experienced a 75% drop in US sales in its second quarter of release, according to estimates by IDC, which pointed out the device’s comparatively high price tag as the reason for the fall in sales. At present, it’s far more expensive than any iPhone or MacBook. IDC also pointed to the lack of exclusive content as another reason for the Vision Pro’s relatively low sales of just 500,000 in the US.
