A leaked Apple roadmap allegedly reveals the future of iOS, including several features Apple is planning for iOS 26.4, iOS 27 and even a tiny hint at what iOS 28 could bring in two years’ time.

The purported roadmap was discovered by Macworld based on a leaked internal build of iOS 26. This build is also reported to hint at new devices including AirTag 2, a “HomePad” and a new Studio Display (seeming to confirm a previous rumor suggesting a 2026 release for that product).

It’s worth nothing that code leaks like this don’t necessarily guarantee any of these features or releases will see the light of day. Still, here’s what Apple could be planning, should the report prove accurate. First up, iOS 26.4, which is expected to launch next spring.

  • Redesigned Health app combined with a new Apple Health+ subscription service. This would feature new layouts, a simpler logging system and an AI-powered health and fitness assistant
  • Siri 2.0 powered by Apple Intelligence
  • Credit card autofill if you have a card saved in Apple Passwords
  • Folder creation in the Freeform app
  • A “Sports Tier” for Apple TV, though it’s not clear from the report whether this would mean a subscription tier or just a general sports tab in the app
  • Enhanced security via a new validation system for Apple ID and iCloud
  • New AirPods features, includinga “Precise Outdoor Location” feature to pinpoint your buds in the Find My app

iOS 27 and iOS 28

There are fewer feature flags for iOS 27 and the iPhone 18, but the code apparently hints at improved collections in the Photos app. Additionally, next year’s big software update is supposed to introduce a new “pairing system” for AirPods.

Details are scarce on both of these features, as you’d imagine for a release that’s not likely to even get a preview until next summer’s Worldwide Developer Conference.

For iOS 28, Apple is reportedly working on new sleep tracking metrics with Apple Watch, including time in bed. There is also a flag indicating a Health app is coming to Mac with macOS 28, whether or not it’s tied into the iOS Health app was not made clear.

That’s a lot of flags and not a lot of details, but it is something to keep an eye out for when iOS 26.4 launches in the spring, followed by iOS 27, likely in September.
