Specs for the upcoming Nothing Phone 3 have leaked, and they point to a device with a major boost in battery life, charging speeds and camera performance.
Nothing is positioning the Phone 3 as its first true flagship device, so it probably shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that many of these leaked specs are a notable upgrade over what we’ve seen from the predominantly budget phone maker before.
According to the leak, which comes via X user @gadget_bits (via Notebookcheck), the Nothing Phone 3 is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display, which would be an upgrade over the 1080p screen on the Phone 2. That should mean sharper visuals and a flagship-grade dynamic refresh rate.
Plenty of megapixels to go around
The camera specs are pretty impressive if the leak is to be believed. We’re looking at a triple 50MP setup, which would be a major upgrade over the dual-camera system on the Phone 2.
That’ll include a main lens, an ultrawide lens and a 3x periscope telephoto shooter. There’s also said to be a 50MP selfie camera, which would also be an upgrade over the 32MP shooter on the Phone 2.
Of course, there’s more to a phone’s camera performance than just the megapixel count – but it’s a good start.
Fast Charge
The battery is said to be rated at 5150mAh, and the charging is set to jump up to a whopping 100W. That’s a big upgrade over the 45W charging on the Phone 2 and the 50W charging on the 3a Pro.
We’re still waiting on confirmation of the Phone 3’s launch date, but it’s set to arrive soon and the same leaks it as July 1 – so if that proves to be correct, we won’t have long to wait. We know it’ll run on Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15 with five years of Android updates and seven years of security updates.
That’s longer than the Phone 2 was promised for. The only downside is that it won’t have the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, but it’s shaping up to be a strong contender with that display, camera, charging and software.
The Glyph Interface will be replaced by a new Glyph Matrix system, but we’re still waiting to see what that’ll entail.
Opinion
I’m excited for the Nothing Phone 3, mostly because it’s a chance fot the brand to bring some of its design prowess to a phone with less sacrifices. Not having to cut corners to achieve a budget price should give them a lot more freedom.
None of these leaked specs are particularly notable and they’re mostly what I would expect to see in 2025, but it’ll be how Nothing combines them with a unique design that’ll be the important factor in the Phone 3’s success.
