Collaboration software maker Asana said Wednesday that it chose former Section And Services Executive Dan Rogers as the new CEO, to replace co-founder Dustin Moskovitz.
Rogers starts on July 21 in San Francisco in Asana, the company announced. Rogers will leave his message as CEO of Launchdarkly, a startup with software for carefully release code updates. Rogers came to Launchdarkly in 2023.
Moskovitz was co-founder of Facebook-parent Meta Before he went to Asana in 2008. In March, Asana said he would retire. Moskovitz will continue as chairman of the Asana board of directors while the company works to diversify with artificial intelligence tools. AI Studio Software from Asana generated more than $ 1 million in annual income in the quarter of April.
“This moment is an unprecedented opportunity for AI to evolve the way people work, and then the leader with the experience, vision and expertise needed to lead Asana to the next chapter,” Moskovitz said in a statement. “I am excited to support.”
Moskovitz, of which Bloomberg estimates that it is worth more than $ 11 billion, has received $ 5 in total reimbursement in the last five fiscal years. Rogers, on the other hand, receives a basic salary of $ 650,000 and $ 35 million in limited share units. Rogers is also eligible for an annual target bonus of $ 650,000.
Before he came to Launchdarkly, Rogers Marketing led to Serviceenow and Symantec, and he held a role Amazon Webservices, Microsoft And Salesforce. He arrived in Launchdarkly after having spent three years as president of software company Rubrik van Data Management.
After he had gone through a direct offer in 2020, Asana saw shares rise during the pandemic, in addition to other software shares. The stock price gradually drove down and Moskovitz bought more and more from the company. On Wednesday, the share closed at $ 12.93 per share, against its record of $ 142.68 in November 2021. Moskovitz owns around 39% of the outstanding ASANA shares, according to factset.
The stock was unchanged after hours after the announcement of the CEO.
Launchdarkly said that his Chief Revenue Officer, Marcus Holm, will be the President of the Startup and co-founder and former CEO, will be more involved every day as the board performs a CEO search assignment.
“” We are grateful for the leadership that then brought to launch and the role he played to help the company scale, “said a spokesperson.
