CarPlay Ultra works with iPhone 12s or newer iOS 18.5 or later. The new Aston Martin DBX, VANTAGE, DB12 and Vanquish will receive the software from today, while existing 2025 model year Aston Martins and the 2024 Aston Martin DB12 will have access via the Automaker dealer network.
“Aston Martin is delighted to work with Apple and to be the first to launch CarPlay Ultra,” said Adrian Hallmark, CEO of Aston Martin. “The integration of CarPlay Ultra is a clear example of the dedication to collaborate with the best companies in the world to bring unique experiences and possibilities to our customers in the vehicle.”

Aston Martin’s 10.25-inch Infotainment touchscreen or digital instrument cluster will now display cards, music album covers or lane information. More than that, Apple says that standard vehicle functions such as the car audio system, climate controls, advanced vehicle-specific functions and performance settings can be changed from CarPlay and displayed together with the speed meter, tachometer and tire pressure. Drivers can use Siri or the physical buttons of the car, which are stored for transmission, drive mode selection and climate, to arrange these functions. There are also switches for the chassis, ESP, exhaust, lane assistant and park distance control.

Apple CarPlay Ultra is equipped with the well -known infotainment screen and the homepage of Apple CarPlay, but sweeping to the right yields a new widgets page with time and weather, as well as other iPhone widgets that users want to add. Functions are not mirrored of the iPhone, but are performed locally and integrate the native user interface of Aston Marin. That means that you never have to leave CarPlay to activate non-carplay functions.
“With CarPlay Ultra, we have again presented the experience in the car together with car manufacturers, making it even more uniform and more consistent,” said Bob Borchers, vice-president of Apple of global product marketing. “This next generation CarPlay gives drivers a smarter, safer way to use their iPhone in the car, while they are deeply integrated with the systems of the car.”
