The ‘snake’ of summer in the technological world has a name: Astronomer. A company known by Astro, an orchestration dataps platform created on Apache Airflow, which has jumped at the forefront of world news not by its solutions in data channels or workflows of AI, but by a ‘event’ transformed into scandal which involved two of its main executives.
Surely you are aware of it. The Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron, and the company’s Human Resources head, decided to attend a concert that Coldplay offered in Massachusetts. The evening passed without greater novelty until the kiss cam (The ‘Kiss Chamber’) that the British band uses in their shows reproduced on the stadium screens to a couple in a situation, say affectionate.
Byron, married to more signs, was immediately aware of the situation and tried to get out of focus. It was late. Someone recognized it, the image uploaded to the Internet and the ‘caught’ ended up viralizing to the point of becoming international news. He has not helped his partner Be the Astronomer Human Resources Directorresponsible, among other functions, to enforce the work ethics of the workforce.
Astronomer Searches CEO
Astronomer’s board of directors took the CEO from his position, announced an investigation and forced his resignation. Recently he has published a statement on the case in LinkedIn: «Our leaders are expected to establish the standard both in behavior and responsibility, and recently, that standard was not fulfilled ».
The product director, Pete Dejy, has been appointed as an interim executive director. The company wants to turn the page as soon as possible clarifying that its solutions have not been affected: “We continue to do what we know best, which is to help our clients with their most difficult data and artificial intelligence problems”.
As for the human resources director, Kristin Cabot, has erased her LinkedIn profile in the last hours, which feeds the speculations that her future in Astronomer is equally uncertain as that of her concert partner and ex-care.
Although in Europe let’s see these types of cases with more distance (each one that is pointed with whoever wants and can), in the United States they are not forgiven and the sample of conjugal infidelity has ended up costing the position to the Astronomer CEO. Chris Martin will have to notice more insistence on his concerts of the possibility of going on the screen. And executives of that level will have to be aware of the need to give an example Among theirs, between those at home and those of the firm staff they run. Be and look like it. Or otherwise, at least be more discreet …
There is also a debate for the use of such cameras in the big concerts and their privacy invasion when published images without consent, although the attendees were warned and in any case the mobiles and third -party cameras are counted by thousands in any public show and today it is impossible to hide.
