BACHELORETTE Katie Thurston has broken down in tears while appearing on Good Morning America.
The former reality star has spoken about her “devastating” cancer diagnosis and has said that she has to “show up or die”.
Speaking to Eva Pilgrim about her breast cancer diagnosis, Katie explained how she didn’t see coming.
She even revealed that there was no family history of the disease before her diagnosis.
Katie spoke about being diagnosed with the disease, saying: “The worst feeling I’ve ever felt.
“You’re just devastated. It’s so shocking.
“As a 34-year-old woman, you’re just not prepared.”
She went on to say: “When I felt my lump, it was sore.
“As women, we’re used to being told, oh, it’s probably your time of the month, or it’s your time of the month. So I just brushed it off for a while.”
She then spoke about treatment, revealing: “Because of the size of the tumor, I have to do chemo first to shrink it down. Then I can have it removed.”
