In usual Beats fashion, they’ve teased and allowed a few “leaks” slip through the net, but now it’s official – the Beats Powerbeat Fit are here.
The new Powerbeat Fit essentially replaces the Beats Fit Pro (which this site awarded four stars to); with availability in four new colours (Jet Black, Gravel Gray, Spark Orange, and Power Pink) and priced at £199.95 in the UK.

The Powerbeats family expands
The Powerbeat Fit joins the Powerbeats Pro 2 as part of Beats fitness-focused headphones, and like the flagship model, the focus here is on providing the most comfortable fit possible through the design.
To achieve this, the Powerbeats Fit comes with wing-tips that tuck into the ear to keep them secure and stable during workouts as well as up the comfort levels so you’re not distracted during your 5K runs. Four ear-tip sizes are provided for extra-small to large to help aid comfort levels and fit.
The IP rating is IPX4 – not the strongest for a pair of fitness buds, but it will offer protection against splashes of water and sweat.
Unlike Apple’s own products, Beats headphones at least try to play nice with Android devices (even though some features remain exclusive to iOS users). If you’re an iOS user you’ll benefit from Automatic Switching between iOS devices, Audio Sharing, hands-free Siri support, Find My location, as well as Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos audio.
Android users can expect features to be tucked away in the Beats app on Android. In there, there’s the Locate My Beats, a Fit Test, customisable controls, checking battery status and one-touch pairing for Android devices.
For calls, Beats claims the Powerbeats Fit deliver “exceptional call quality” though its beam-forming mics that can capture a person’s voice and also reduce the effects of wind noise. As always, we’ll be the judge of that once we get a review sample in for testing.
Stamina is claimed to be 30 hours in total with the smaller, redesigned charging case (which does not appear to be wireless charging compatible). You get seven hours per charge and if battery is low, a five-minute charge tops up the reserves by an hour. The case itself also matches the IP rating of the buds at IPX4.
Like the Fit Pro, the Powerbeats Fit also comes armed with noise-cancellation and a transparency mode to keep noises at bay or to let them in.
We expect the same balanced approach to audio that’s been the hallmark of recent Beats headphones, with the emphasis on clarity, detail and an uncoloured performance. Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking is also supported with music, movies, and games, though this is only supported on iOS devices.
The Beats Powerbeats Fit feature Adaptive EQ that tailors the sound to the unique fit and seal of each ear (similar to Bose’s CustomTune algorithm); the aim being you get the best audio no matter the shape of your ear.
