The official Instagram, account for HEYTEA used the platform to reveal what fans have long been wondering about the logo.

Everyone can recognise the cartoon sketch of the head tilting at an angle to drink the tea.

It’s become synonymous with what many believe to be the Starbucks of China.

It turns out that the iconic logo is based on ancient coins, something that deepens the mystery around the beloved brand.

The official account wrote in a caption: “HEYTEA logo draws inspiration from the side profiles found on ancient coins.

“Featuring a 45-degree tilt, the design is based on the gesture of drinking our original Cheese Tea, while the simple lines represent timelessness and inclusiveness.

“Our logo variations are a celebration of inspiration and creativity, as they incorporate elements from the city, brand, and IP into the design.

“The result is a distinctive and collectible logo that resonates with both fans and consumers.”

HEYTEA has over 4,000 stores worldwide, according to its website.

The brand was founded in 2012 in alley called Jiangbianli, and are the originators of the cheese tea.

Mixue Bingcheng: The New Titan of Fast Food in America

This drink combines the classic taste of tea with a soft and thin top layer of cheese foam.

MAJOR US RIVAL

The US Sun recently reported on the imminent arrival of Mixue Bingcheng to the US – one of the largest bubble tea emporiums in China.

The chain has 90% of its locations in China with others in the Asia Pacific region, including Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

The chain is so large that The Wall Street Journal said: “Forget McDonald’s. This Chinese Fast-Food Chain Is Now the World’s Biggest.”

Mixue is known in China for its ultra-cheap drinks, selling soft serve for just 1 yuan, or 15 cents, per cone and bubble tea.

Most drinks cost between 30 cents to $1.20.

Zhang Hongchao, the founder of Mixue, was born into a poor family and has a simple strategy: “Let people around the world eat well and drink well for just two American dollars,” he previously told Chinese state media.

Fast Food meal deals

Serious questions are being raised right now as to what Mixue’s US introduction could mean for other industry giants.

Either way, experts are confident that Mixue will find success in the US.

Kenny Ng Lai-yin, a strategist at Everbright Securities International, said: “As market capacity can be uncertain in the [fresh-drinks] industry, the fact that Mixue can sell raw materials to its own franchisees and have a clear understanding of their demand gives it a lot of agency compared to others.”

The adaptability of Mixue’s business model means that it can generate revenue from multiple sources, such as the sale of ingredients.,

This is before it’s even started selling the teas.

In March, Mixue raised $444 million in an initial public offering, according to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

This makes it the highest listing in the country this year.
