Apple TV+ has announced its latest collaboration with Ben Stiller: an original documentary that explores the lives and legacy of his parents, legendary comedy duo Jerry Stiller (Seinfeld) and Anne Meara (Night at the Museum). Here’s when to expect it.
‘Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost’ gets a theatrical release
The documentary, Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost, will debut in select theaters on October 17, before hitting Apple TV+ globally on October 24.
Here is Ben Stiller on how he feels about the upcoming debut of his most personal project to date:
“I feel very fortunate to be partnering once again with the incredible team at Apple TV+, this time on a project that is very personal to me and my family, (…) It’s exciting to finally get to share it with audiences; and a great honor to celebrate my parents, both as I knew them growing up, and as I’ve come to know them in new ways through the making of this film.”
Alongside Stiller, the production team includes John Lesher (Birdman), Geoffrey Richman (Tiger King), and Lizz Morhaim (The Super Models), with additional executive producers from XTR and others.
Here’s Apple’s take on the project:
“Ben Stiller tells the story of his parents, comedy icons Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, exploring their impact on both popular culture and at home, where the lines between creativity, family, life and art often blurred. In the process, Stiller turns the camera on himself and his family to examine Jerry and Anne’s enormous influence on their lives, and the generational lessons that we can all learn from those we love.”
Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost also builds on Stiller’s growing relationship with Apple. He serves as co-creator and director of Severance, which recently scored 27 Emmy nominations, more than any other series this year.
Apple TV+ is available for $9.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Silo.
