Best Laptop Deal of the Day: $660 Off the Editors’ Choice-Winning Legion Pro 7i

Yesterday, I covered a more casual laptop in terms of components, but there are those of you out there who need more from their computer. A high-powered gaming laptop can be used for creative pursuits like video and photo editing, but also for playing the latest blockbuster PC games.

Here at PCMag, we divide configurations into three categories: budget (under about $1,200), midrange (between $1,200 and $2,000), and high-end ($2,000 and up). Today’s deal is on the Lenovo Legion Pro, a high-end gaming laptop that wins our Editors’ Choice award for deluxe gaming laptops. This $660 discount brings the retail price below $3,000, which is huge savings for a powerful device running the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU and RTX 5080 GPU.

When our expert went hands on with the previous generation Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, he was blown away by the exceptional performance, sturdy build quality, and gorgeous gaming display. He went on to say, “The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 9 16 challenges many high-end gaming laptops for hundreds less.”

There wasn’t much change design-wise between the Gen 8 and the Gen 9, and the same can be said for the Gen 10, but one of the standouts was the addition of a Thunderbolt 4 port, which was one of the few cons in our review. “Can I run it?” will never be a question again with the Legion Pro 7i Gen 10—from casual indie games like Stardew Valley to blockbusters like Monster Hunter Wilds—and even resource-intensive programs like Adobe Photoshop are on the table.

This model also features an OLED display to really highlight the power of the RTX 5080, which also won our Editors’ Choice stamp of approval. The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 isn’t cheap, but this $660 price cut will ease the burden on our wallet. Consider it an investment in your gaming and designing future, because with specs like these, you won’t need to upgrade for a good while.
