We reviewed the GE Cync camera when it was released, and proclaimed it to be a competent contender that delivered 1080p video in both daytime and nighttime, along with some nice motion and sound detection features. You have the option of storing video in a SD card slot or on the cloud with an additional subscription. Setup is a breeze and it plays nice with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, but unfortunately doesn’t work with IFTTT integrations.

While the TP-Link Tapo C100 doesn’t have as many of the high-end features as more expensive options, but it does everything you’ll need it to. Motion detection can send push notifications instantly to your phone, two-way audio and a built-in siren lets you communicate or scare away prowling animals, and it’s compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

For a few more bucks, Eufy gives you more features and flexibility for your home security setup. They’re rechargeable, for one, and between the full field of view, infrared night vision, and 1080p resolution, the footage you get is pretty detailed. They also deliver smart notifications like motion alerts that can tell the difference between the neighborhood cat and a delivery driver arriving at your doorstep (and with two-way audio, you can interact with them as well). This package also includes a home hub for months of video storage with no monthly fee.

Video Doorbell Deals

Here’s an 25% discount for the Eufy battery video doorbell, a very competent front-porch monitor that we gave a solid review to. It’s simple to set up and connect to your home Wi-Fi network, and once it’s up and running you can stream video and get motion alerts to your phone or other smart device, use two-way audio to communicate with visitors, and more. An optional microSD card can plug right in to the chime unit to store captured video. In our review, we said that it “couldn’t be easier to install,” taking just a few minutes with simple hand tools and the free Nest app. The two-way speaker and microphone work effectively, and you can store video for up to three hours without a subscription. Our only criticism of the unit was the sticker price, so Amazon delivering a 167% discount handles that.

Finally, here’s a budget model from TP-Link that delivers surprisingly great 2K video in a compact and unobtrusive package. We reviewed the Tapo smart video doorbell and said that it was versatile, wire-free and works with tons of other smart devices, giving it an Editors’ Choice award. With support for both Alexa and Google smart networks as well as IFTTT applets, you can integrate it easily into your home smart network. You can store footage either on a MicroSD card or in the cloud with a Tapo Care subscription.

In our review, we had a lot of good things to day about the system, noting that it supports multiple wireless programs for seamless integration to smart home systems, as well as taking Alexa voice commands and working with Alexa Guard to monitor for the sounds of breaking glass and smoke alarms. The built-in siren is super loud, and the Ring mobile app is a breeze to use.

Smart Lock Deals

The Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint was our all-around pick in our rundown of the best smart locks, and in our rave review contributing editor John Delaney said that it was “one of the most versatile smart locks we’ve tested,” praising its accurate fingerprint recognition, voice recognition, and numerous physical entry methods. It takes 8 AA batteries, which last an estimated eight months before needing to be replaced, and the AI-powered fingerprint detection gets more accurate over time. If you’ve got dirty hands, you can also open the lock with a physical key, a numeric code, or the eufy phone app.
