Prixtel is the new troublemaker in telecoms. The virtual mobile operator that relies on the SFR network is displaying prices that will hurt the competition. While the average Price of a mobile plan was around 17 euros at the beginning of 2024, prices have fallen dramatically since the start of the school year in September. This drop is mainly due to one player: Prixtel.
To boost subscription volumes, it has decided to tackle not only the data package but also the price. It’s just mind-blowing what’s happening on the market: you can now have unlimited calls, SMS and MMS and 200 GB per month for only 7.99 euros. And it’s without commitment.

The competition is not there: Sosh is at 100 GB for 9.99 euros per month, Orange is at 31.99 euros for 100 GB (in 5G) per month, RED by SFR is at 100 GB for 7.99 euros. In short, no one can match Prixtel, which is in the process of operating a vast revolution in the telecoms landscape. The little guy, who still has hundreds of thousands of customers, has an ogre’s appetite and is hurting the competition.
200 GB at this price, we have probably never seen it in the history of telecoms. What is even more interesting is that it is a plan without commitment: you can therefore cancel at any time if there is something that bothers you. There are still many traditional operators today who ask you to commit for 24 months, there is none of that with Prixtel.
A perfect score for Prixtel
Prixtel first found success with its scalable packages – which still exist – and which offer flexibility to all customers. This is the case of the Oxygène package which is 7.99 euros for 200 GB. For example, if you need 250 GB in a given month, you can get them for only 13.99 euros over that period: there is a mechanism that allows you to see the price of your subscription adjusted each month according to your actual consumption. This avoids you going over your package and allows you more flexibility during periods such as summer.
Prixtel’s Oxygène package is perfect in every way – even if SFR is not the best network in France. If you are in a big city, you will see absolutely no difference with the Orange or Bouygues Telecom networks. It is perhaps in some remote countryside that you will be able to see a small difference: you just have to look on the Arcep website for coverage to get an idea of its effectiveness.
But clearly, for 200 GB at 7.99 euros per month, this package is simply unbeatable. It fully deserves its status as the best package in our ranking. Now let’s see how long it will stay online: it will probably be stormed in the coming hours. Prixtel revealed it this Wednesday at the end of the day, it is possible that it will disappear very quickly.
