Biggest Sky Sports season ever brings new features to Sky Glass and Stream

As you might have heard, Sky Sports allocation of Premier League games has jumped from 128 to a minimum (that’s right, a minimum) of 215 live games; meaning you’ve got more opportunities to see your team beat others (or get beaten) over the course of the new season.

For Sky Sports subscribers they’ll be more ways to not just watch the matches but to keep track of what’s going and engage with all the conversations surrounding football. Sky feels like the 2025/26 season could be its biggest yet, and here are the reasons why it believes that.

Watch multiple matches with Multiview

With Sky’s Multiview feature, you can now view multiple matches simultaneously for those of you who want to be armchair chairs, keeping abreast of all the action happening during live matches.

Sky says in its press release ‘all’ the matches , but in the brief clip we saw there was four matches on screen – more than enough for anyone we’d imagine, with each match treated to dediciated commentary and analysis. This feature will be available on Sky TV, NOW and through the Sky Sports app.

Plus, on weekends following midweek European action, displaced matches that were meant to be played on the Saturday and have moved to Sundays also mean that you can watch up to four matches all live and at once with the Multiview feature.

Sky Sports Plus x Sky OS

When it launched in 2024, the Sky Sports+ was accessible through the Sky Sports app, but that’s no longer the case for this season.

Sky says that “later this year”, all the live events (across all the sports Sky carries) that are currently streamed on Sky Sports+ via the app on TV will be made available through the Sky OS platform on Glass and Stream.

Sky says this course of action has been taken to make it easier to find for customers, as well as introducing the option to add these live streams to Playlist to keep track of them.

This change, however, won’t make to Sky Q set-top box, which will continue to play these additional live streams through the Sky Sports app. The app, though, will have a “refreshed look and feel” for the new season.

Add your team to Sky’s Playlist

We’ve had our quibbles with Sky about its Playlist feature – namely that it doesn’t record but we’ll save that argument for another day – but this latest feature is more in line with the potential Playlist offers.

You can add your favourite team to the Playlist feature, gathering all the content that’s available on Sky OS in one place so you can keep track of what’s happening. And this won’t just be for football teams, we were told that it could apply to other sports that Sky broadcasts on its channels.

Other features include on-screen match reminders across any TV guide channels for live sport, as well as the ability to watch a game from the start if they’ve missed the start or experience a full replay of the match once the final whistle is done.

These updates will be coming to Sky Glass and Stream this season, with Sky Q users also set to get these features “soon”.
